The way to save news and democracy is to burn the news down and start fresh. We need to abandon or dismantle media conglomerates, re-establish editorial independence, and combat misinformation with new standards. Embrace tech innovation, revitalize and emphasize local journalism, and enhance media literacy to create a trustworthy, diverse, and reliable press. It’s time for radical reform to restore integrity in news & journalism. #Journalism #MediaReform #IntegrityInNews #news #media @jeff@newsie.social
We want news that isn't run by money. We want journalism that uncovers the truth and lays it bare. We want journalism that isn't afraid of pissing off the wrong people.
One side says its raining, the other says its not. Journalism's job isn't to report both sides. Journalism's job is to look out the window (with apologies... likely to Hubert Mewhinney)
If you want independant, grass-roots journalistic integrity, these are the outfits for you. If you want to contribute to or help curate this list make a ~~suggestion~~ Suggestion button is brokenor contact me @tezoatlipoca@mas.to on Mastodon. **
